VO: Help Clean Up the Bosque River Nature Center
July 12 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
We are having a work day at the Bosque River Nature Center on Saturday, July 12. The work will begin at 8:00 a.m. or earlier to try to beat the heat. On July 17, Carol Clark is going to be our speaker after the chapter meeting. She is in charge of the Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas program and is an administrator of the grant that we have from the Native Plant Society of Texas. Ms. Clark has been invited to visit the Nature Center before the meeting on the 17th, but she has not yet said that she will be able to meet us there. Just in case, we want a spiff-up day to make our work at the prairie more legible. There is still some Johnson grass, giant ragweed, western ragweed, and–of course–bermuda. Providing they are still alive, there will be liatrus and purple coneflower to plant. There may also be some grasses. Please bring tools: shovels, trowels, clippers, gloves, tarps, and any other item that might be useful.
