Welcome Pollinators And Make Native Flowers a Valuable Part of Your Vegetable Garden & Orchard (Dr. Marsha Stephens, Certified Texas Master Naturalist)

Plant flowers in the produce garden? That may sound a little non-traditional, but that’s what this is all about! Take a quick refresher on pollination and who gets the job done, then venture into viewing the world through a pollinator’s eyes – what looks good to eat now, where can I lay eggs and what will my offspring eat? And what do I need to avoid in order to survive? Marsha Stephens is a dedicated non-gardener, who nevertheless has a great appreciation for the world of pollinators as an essential part of our food supply and a fascinating link to natural ecosystems. Dr. Stephens holds a PhD in Biology from New Mexico State University, MS in Biology from UT El Paso, MEd in Curriculum & Education from Texas A&M and BS in Secondary Education from Lamar University.
