We are beginning a new Christmas Bird Count at Whitney Lake! For those who’ve never seen Whitney, it is an impressive lake on the Brazos River a little north of Waco. The lake has beautiful bluffs and some superb habitat for a wide variety of species including a seasonal population of common loons and yellow-cheeked warblers! For anyone looking to round out their county observations, the Whitney circle covers three counties, Bosque, Hill, and Johnson). The Whitney Count will be Sunday, December 18th.
Please consider sharing these fliers and maps with your students, members, etc. The more volunteers we get, the better.
