Acton Nature Center Community Lecture Series

This is the third 2023 Acton Nature Center Community Lecture of four in a series to be offered to the public through the year. Lectures are nature-oriented and offered the first Sunday of January, April, July, and October at 2:00 PM at the Opal Durant Community Center (aka, Acton Library).

For this lecture, Matt Warnock Turner, Ph.D., will present Texas Flora: Remarkable Natives and Invasives. He will focus his talk primarily on native trees, shrubs, and herbs common to our area. He will also talk about how culture, shifting attitudes, and unforeseen benefits influence the spread and management of invasive species.
