Earth Science Week 2022 will emphasize the essential role of Earth science in helping people make decisions that maintain and strengthen the planet’s ability to support thriving life. This national and international recognition of Earth Science provides opportunities for everyone to enhance their understanding of geoscience — including the professions, technologies, and practices that contribute to the sustainability of the Earth, society, and all of life. Program resources and activities will engage young people and others in exploring the many ways that Earth science can and does help promote a sustainable world.
Raising awareness of the geosciences nationally and around the globe, AGI leads Earth Science Week in cooperation with its sponsors and the geoscience community as a service to the public. Each October, community groups, educators, and interested citizens organize celebratory events. Earth Science Week offers opportunities to discover the Earth sciences and engage in responsible stewardship of the Earth. Learn more on the Earth Science Week webpage.
