City of Burleson Parks Department has asked Texas Master Naturalist, Rio Brazos Chapter to lead a nature hike during the Far Out Family Campout. This is a great opportunity for those who are new to nature hikes and want to learn how to conduct one. Volunteers also will help provide assistance along the trail.
Cleburne Parks and Recreation are planting several trees at McGregor Park and need volunteers to help. Bring a shovel if you have one to back-fill soil. Holes will be dug in advance.
Citizen science monthly bird count recorded in eBird. Walk starts in the parking lot and goes to the bird blind and along trails from there. Masks and social distancing encouraged. Recommended: Binoculars, camera, water, hiking shoes, and clothing suitable for the weather.
Work day for maintaining Acton Nature Center facilities, trails, butterfly garden, and more. Contact Dave Moore for details.
Join Ranger Allen Dees for a trail maintenance day at DVSP. Please bring work gloves, water, and tree trimmers. Join us for a picnic lunch afterwards. The Bailey Lake Pocket Prairie is a City of Burleson Parks and Recreation beautification project. Chapter volunteers can earn volunteer hours working on maintaining the pocket prairie. Bring hand tools you are comfortable using. Contact Katelyn Reese for more information.
