The chapter offers nature-related lessons in a structured program for homeschool children. Volunteers arrive at 9:30 to set up. Nature based programs start at 10:30. Volunteers can participate in the entire program or parts of it. There are different programs each month from September-May. Free Public event. This is a citizen science monthly bird count recorded in eBird. Walk starts in the parking lot and goes to the bird blind and along trails from there. Masks and social distancing encouraged. Recommended: Binoculars, camera, water, hiking shoes, and clothing suitable for the weather.

Keep Burleson Beautiful is the catalyst organization that combines all nature organizations working with the City of Burleson Parks Department in a reporting meeting that recurs monthly. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Texas Master Naturalist, Rio Brazos Chapter members serve on the Board.
Friends of Acton Nature Center (FANC) meet every second Wednesday to discuss, review, and plan tasks and projects for maintaining the native character of the nature center, along with maintaining facilities and offering educational opportunities. Join Texas State Parks in celebrating their 100th Birthday! State Parks across Texas will be hosing S'mores events to see if they can break the world record in the number of s'mores made and eaten in one day. DVSP will be setting up s'mores-making stations along the primitive trails.
