Several chapter members attended last weekend’s 2022 Annual Meeting Awards in Houston, Texas. The meeting provided inspiration and guidance to everyone and our chapter is proud to have received a few awards as well.
Sabine Neches Chapter received 1st Place in the Exemplary Project Awards, garnering an $800 project grant for our future endeavors. The project, “Beyond The Choir”, which is detailed in a previous post, earned the votes based on the efforts of a high percentage of chapter members participating in our efforts to increase public outreach. We look forward to putting the grant to good use in the upcoming year.
In the Photo, Art & Media Contest, our chapter member, Jaclyn Parker, won 3rd Place in the Photography: Scenic category, with her photo entitled: “The Cypress Sisters”. This is a beautiful photo representative of the cypress swamps and sloughs prevalent here Southeast Texas.
Finally, on a more personal note, Lifetime Service Hour Milestone Awards were recognized for those in attendance. Chapter Public Outreach Chair, Nancy Angell, received the 1,000 Service Hours Milestone Award and Chapter President, Randy Beehn, received the 4,000 Service Hours Milestone Award. Both were honorably recognized for their dedicated, hard-working service. Our chapter is honored to have them as mentors and role models.
Attending and participating in all that the Annual Meeting has to offer provides inspiration and initiative to make our chapter strive toward making a positive impact on the communities in which we serve.
