Trash-off Group

Since the inception of this program in 1995, many groups have worked to do their part in keeping our community a cleaner place. In the past 20+ years, this event has collected nearly 200,000 pounds of trash to help beautify the area and protect the environment.  This event is supported by the City of Orange, Texas, and organized by Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center; headquarters are at the City of Orange Boat Ramp – Simmons Drive.
Texas Master Naturalists, Sabine-Neches Chapter will help clean the streets and waterways of the Orange, West Orange and Pinehurst communities. For participants, lunch is provided and door prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded.
Cleaning stations are given to groups on a first-come, first-served basis.  Register in advance to select a particular station.
Call 409.670.0803 or stop by Shangri La Gardens for details.
Teams will consist of 3-5 volunteers and will be assigned to an area to clean up. Clean-up stations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups are encouraged to sign up early. On the day of the event, team leaders can pick up supplies at the park for use at their assigned clean-up sites. In addition, volunteers willing to bring small boats to assist in the clean-up on Adams Bayou are welcome.
