On Saturday, January 18th, join park staff at Baby Galvez launch area for our monthly “flash-mob” clean up. The Baby Galvez launch area is located outside of Silsbee, Texas, off of Lindsey Road. Volunteers will meet at 10 am to start with a short safety briefing before the start of the event. The clean-up will finish at Noon. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and long sleeves. Preserve staff will supply trash bags, trash grabbers and plastic gloves.
Big Thicket National Preserve is excited to announce the start of a new monthly volunteer effort, geared towards cleaning the day-use areas and river access points found throughout the park. This monthly event will take place on the third Saturday of each month and focus on a different day use each time. Volunteers will meet at 10 am to start with a short safety briefing before the clean-up activities begin, and wrap-up around noon.
