Canoe/Kayak Trip on Pine Island Bayou

Place: Pine Island Bayou (Meet at the Highway 69/96 boat ramp on Pine Island Bayou. Take the Cooks Lake Road Exit.)

The Golden Triangle Sierra Club Group will canoe Pine Island Bayou through the Big Thicket National Preserve, paddling upstream and back for approximately three hours total. Pine Island Bayou above the Highway 69 Bridge is a beautiful, quiet, meandering stream with lots of cypress, tupelo, hardwoods, and large pines.

Cost: $35 for canoe rental or bring your own canoe or kayak.
Bring: A daypack, water (at least two quarts), snacks, hat boat shoes, cameras, bug repellant, sunscreen, field guides, and clothes to fit the weather.
