Rain or Shine!
More than a few years ago, The Conservation Fund graciously and generously purchased 29 acres of gorgeous Village Creek frontage property from Hardin County at Baby Galvez in Silsbee, with the intent of donating the property to the National Park Service for inclusion into the boundary of the Big Thicket National Preserve. All requirements for donation have been met except for a few remaining piles of roof shingles. The property can be officially transferred when the shingles are removed.
A Baby Galvez neighbor is donating his front end loader tractor to clean up the shingles and Pineywoods Sanitation will have a dumpster on site. Baby Galvez has been used as a dumping site for many years. We would like to transfer the property to the NPS as clean as possible. While we have equipment and a dumpster on site, we are soliciting your help in cleaning up the remainder of the trash and old televisions. Please come and help. Bring your wheelbarrows, shovels and gloves.
The Conservation Fund will provide coffee, donuts and water for all.
