Where: Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (kiosk just before the visitor’s center)
When: Saturday, February 18, 8:30am
On past trips Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, White-tailed Kites, Cinnamon Teal, and Vermilion Flycatchers have been spotted. Presently there is a Burrowing Owl wintering there that can be seen from Frozen Point Road.
After breaking for lunch, the group will head to the Skillern Tract. Those attending should bring a sack lunch and drinks.
Directions: The reserve is south of Winnie off of Highway 124. Turn right onto FM 1985 to the Main Entrance to the left.
