Nature Conservancy Birding Challenge

May 3, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free
Roy Larsen Sandylands will be participating in a Nature Conservancy Birding Challenge on May 3 and is looking for a few volunteers to help out with the bird count.
Sandylands is critical for a lot of east Texas species:  Red-headed, Hairy, and Pileated Woodpeckers, Brown-headed Nuthatch, maybe Bachman’s Sparrow, maybe a flyover Swallow-tailed Kite, breeding songbirds (Prothonotary Warbler, Northern Parula, Yellow-throated Warbler, Swainson’s Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Kentucky Warbler, Wood Thrush, Great Crested Flycatcher, Acadian Flycatcher).
If you are interested or know of any birder who would like to help out on May 3, contact Shawn Bennedict (409-658-2888) or Randy Beehn ([email protected] or 281-414-4304).
NOTE:  This is an all-day event; however, any commitment of time is appreciated.  Contact Shawn when you get on-site, and he will let you know where on the property to meet others or set up.
