Village Creek State Park

Event:  Harvey Recovery Work Day

Time:  10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a break for lunch

Water and snacks will be provided.  Volunteers who stay to help after lunch should bring a lunch.  Closed-toed shoes are a must and gloves would be a very good idea.

The goal of this workday will be to find all of the picnic area and group camping area picnic tables and move them to the parking lot.  They will be pressure-washed and repaired at a later date.  If enough people are available, the picnic site boundaries and the trail through that area will be defined.

Volunteers need to contact Kathy Smith [Main Office (409) 755-7322; Nature Center (409) 751-3907] prior to January 20.   TxDOT has not repaired the bridge yet, so she needs to know how many are coming in order to make arrangements for transporting volunteers to the work area.
