Devils River: A multi-disciplinary approach to saving one of the last great wild rivers in Texas

The next Texas Waters Webinar will be held Tuesday, August 20th from 6:30pm-7:30pm.  Sarah Robertson’s webinar will discuss Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s effort to protect the Devils River, which includes working with numerous partners to employ holistic stewardship of the river including conducting and funding biological and hydrologic research, working with landowners to promote healthy watershed practices, and managing recreation to reduce impacts. This webinar will touch on Chapter 5 & 8 of the Texas Waters: Exploring Water and Watersheds curriculum.

About the speaker:  Sarah Robertson is an aquatic biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s River Studies Program in San Marcos, Texas.  Sarah attended Texas State University where she received a B.S. in Aquatic Biology and an M.S. in Aquatic Resources.  In her current role she studies fish communities and river ecosystems across the state of Texas.  Sarah has been working in the Devils River in West Texas for 10 years and currently serves as the Devils River aquatic research coordinator for the Habitat Conservation Branch at TPWD.
