Monthly Public Star Party at Abilene State Park

Join us for our monthly public star party! We gather in the grassy area in front of the swimming pool just before dark. This is a come-and-go event, so you’re welcome to arrive anytime during the evening.

What to Expect:
A few of our Big Country Master Naturalists set up telescopes to help you spot stars, planets, and the moon. You’re also welcome to bring your own telescope or binoculars if you have them. It’s a relaxed and fun night of sky-watching and learning!

Helpful Tips:

• Try to arrive before it gets completely dark so you can find the group easily.

• Dim your lights as you enter the area—white lights interfere with night vision.

• If you have a red-light flashlight, bring it along for best results.
