We are a volunteer service organization. The Central Texas Chapter, founded in 2010, has members from Bell and surrounding counties and is one of approximately 50 Texas Master Naturalist™ Chapters. Through education, outreach and service we are dedicated to management and conservation of natural resources and natural areas within our communities.

Our chapter meetings are open to the public! Have you been thinking about adopting some landscape practices and plantings that are more drought, heat and cold tolerant? Xeriscaping could be the answer, but it can seem a daunting task. Whether looking for small changes or a complete overhaul, Stan Simons will have information you can use. A May 2024 tornado destroyed his traditional landscaping so he turned it into an opportunity to move his yard to a xeriscape design. Perhaps his experience will give you ideas for your own landscape.
Terry Rascoe has shared some of his images from the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse from Searcy, Arkansas for those who did not get the full experience through Texas clouds. Next US Total Solar Eclipse: 2045!
