Featured speaker and presentation:

Our November speaker is Karla Klay, executive director at Artist Boat (Galveston).

Karla Klay is the founding director of Artist Boat and brings over 30 years of experience in arts and environmental education, ecotourism, and public engagement focused on coastal and marine ecosystems. She has dedicated her career to developing programs that inspire students and the public to understand, appreciate, and take action to improve environmental quality along the Texas coast.

During this presentation…
Learn about Artist Boat’s effort to conserve 1,400 acres on West Galveston Island.  Since 2010, 1,039 acres have been conserved through 15 transactions totaling $25 million.  Everyone is a conservationist. This effort has taken a village of partners at federal, state, and local levels.
