Welcome to the Highland Lakes Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program
The Highland Lakes Chapter is located in the Texas Hill Country along Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, and Lake LBJ. Our chapter serves Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, and Llano Counties. The region we work and play in is a very diverse area. We have the best geology in the state as well as bountiful riparian areas. Within our borders we have numerous State Parks and Natural Areas, a U. S. Wildlife Refuge, and a U. S. Fish Hatchery. We have 130 + members and just celebrated our 20th year. Our members have various interests such as education, conservation, land management, and wildlife viewing. We participate in and develop projects for the schools and communities in our area. Much of our support comes from Texas A & M AgriLife and Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Our Mission
“The Texas Master Naturalist program is a natural resource-based volunteer training and development program sponsored statewide by Texas AgriLife Extension and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.”
The mission of the program is: “to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers who provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the state of Texas”
