How Chapter Projects Work

Building camaraderie among new students is essential to provide them with important tools for future endeavors in the Master Naturalist program.  A class project can accomplish this by building a team from a disparate group of people.

Additionally, class projects offer students the opportunity to begin their required 40 hours of volunteer service within the training session period, and leave a legacy – whether it be something of enduring benefit to the natural resources, education of the public or future Master Naturalist students, or promotion of the program.  The class project will be the beautification of the Knobby Knees Trailhead pond area and will include sub-projects in wildscaping with native plants, adding interpretation information and removing invasive plant species.
