Thank you for your interest in Texas Master Naturalist™, Lower Trinity Basin Chapter. The mission of the Texas Master Naturalist program is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.
Like almost every part of our lives, Lower Trinity Basin Chapter’s annual training class was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our state sponsors gave us permission to carry on with our classes online via WebEx. They dropped the requirement for field time, so more class time needed to be scheduled to meet the required 40 hours of training time. These changes meant our speakers had to be rescheduled due to missed classes and time needed to adapt programs to a strictly online presentation. The process has been a challenging one, but the training class has gone on and is almost complete. Our trainees stepped up to the challenge and have been faithful in their online attendance and have asked relevant questions making the online class time truly interactive.
We look forward to a future Lower Trinity Basin Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist training class where we meet in person again! Dates have not been set, but when we have more confidence about the format of another class, planning will begin.
