Update on June 23
Sorry folks,
After several of us scouting out “known” bumblebee hang outs and finding none, Dr. Pfau is requesting we pick a different time of year to try the bumblebee id field trip.
Buttonbush is in bloom but only seeing “honey bees” around it right now.
Sorry to do this but we will cancel our bumblebee field trip for July 1, 2023.
TEXAS BUMBLEBEES
July 1, 2023 9 A.M. to 11 A.M
Advanced Training for Chapter Members
Dr. Pfau will lead our chapter members in bumblebee identification. The
buttonbush that they like should be in bloom and easy to see them Lance
shared.
Dress for the conditions. We will be outside the whole time. Wear comfy
walking shoes. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, water, snacks, camera and your love
of Texas bumblebees as we learn from Dr. Pfau and each other.
Any questions you can reach me at inbodyd@gmail.com. This is an approved AT
in our chapter, log under AT: POMN-Class, event, workshop, bird walk, nature
hike, etc. sponsored or led by POMN. Specify training (title/presenter) in
“Describe your training” when you report.
The location will be at Lance’s property:
2010 PR 1562
5 miles north of town off 281, just north of Club Lake. About 1 mile down 1562. Black gate entry.
