A program on Wildlife Management Tax Valuation will be presented in Stephenville on Saturday September 29 as a public outreach by the Prairie Oaks Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists.

The speaker Jesse Oetgen is a Texas Parks and Wildlife Technical Guidance Biologist serving 21 counties in the Cross Timbers & Prairies and the Eastern Rolling Plains, with a primary focus in helping private landowners properly manage wildlife habitats and populations. His presentation will include the requirements to qualify for a wildlife management tax valuation and wildlife management practices recognized as acceptable for qualifying plans, including examples of those practices. Mr. Oetgen holds a BS in Wildlife Ecology and Management from Texas A&M University and an MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Louisiana State University. He has worked for TPWD as a wildlife biologist for 16 years, including the central coastal area and Post Oak Savannah prior to his current assignment.
The presentation will be at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at 1229 N. Hwy 281 in Stephenville. An introduction to Prairie Oaks Chapter will begin at 9 am with refreshments and door prize drawings. The guest presentation by Jesse Oetgen of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be 10 am to 11 am.
