Rocks Alive!

September 28 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Rocks Alive! A free, outdoor, come-and-go event for all ages at Acton Nature Center, Sept. 28, 10am-2pm.

What’s in a rock that sustains life? And soil – why do we need it? How about water, air, and even the sun? Discover why life would not exist were it not for the physical foundations on which it relies. Interact with exhibitors to get the inside scoop on how rocks, soil, water (surface and underground), and climate/weather shape and support Texas landscapes and ecosystems. Get a peek at what’s up with outer space. Fun and educational activities for children: finding a fossil, making and eating a rock, creating pictures with pebbles, and building a mini ecosystem.

Check back for details as the date approaches.
