The Texas Master NaturalistTM Program
The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.
Started in 1997, the Texas Master Naturalist™ program includes 49 local chapters serving 213 counties. Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service sponsor the program.
The Rio Brazos Chapter
We are a service-oriented group of nature lovers dedicated to helping others learn about our Natural Texas and how to care for it. We help restore and maintain natural areas, conduct citizen science projects supporting natural resource management, offer outdoor learning events in our communities, provide education opportunities for youth and adults, and more.
Established in 2005, the Rio Brazos Chapter currently has over 100 members. The chapter serves Hood, Johnson, and Somervell Counties.

Monthly Bird Walks. 1st Saturday every month, 7-10 AM at Acton Nature Center, 6900 Smoky Hill Court, Granbury, TX. For everyone, from casual bird interest to seasoned birders. Check calendar 1st Saturday Bird Walk at ANC for details.
Chapter Meeting. Mar. 6, 2025, 6:00-8:30 pm at Fossil Rim, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center Safari Camp Meeting Rooms, County Road 2009, Glen Rose, TX 76043.
