We have a lot of amazing things going on in our Chapter this year!
So much has been happening lately that it could be a little hard to keep up with all the wonderful things being announced. Want a quick rundown on everything that has been going on in the Brazos Valley recently? Keep reading!

This Year is Our 20th Anniversary!
Our Chapter was founded in 2005. We have grown a lot since then, and are taking the time this year to celebrate all that we have accomplished in the past 20 years and where we will be headed from here! From special field trips and picnics to collaborating on our anniversary scrapbook, there will be plenty of opportunities over the next few months for our members to get together and celebrate this great milestone!

The 2025 Annual Meeting is Coming to the Brazos Valley!
Not only does this year mark two decades of our Chapter, but we are also hosting this year’s Texas Master Naturalists Annual Meeting! We are excited to welcome Master Naturalists from other Chapters across the state to Aggieland this October, and are going to be busy bees to get ready for our guests. If you find yourself in need of extra volunteer hours this year, I guarantee we’ll have something for you!

College Station is Officially A Bird City!
The hard work of our community to make College Station a bird-friendly area has paid off! Not only have we officially joined the Bird City Network as of January 9th, but we are the first community to earn the title on the first try! You can take a gander (sorry, couldn’t resist a bird joke there) at the action list of things we and our community have done to help our local birds both on the Bird City Texas website and the City of College Station’s Parks & Recreation page on the project.

We Were Awarded a Generous Grant!
We are excited to announce that we received $2,000 in funding from the Post Oak Pollinator Plant Project (POPPP) to use on activities to help with the conversation of our local pollinators. A big thank you to H-E-B’s Pollinators for Texas initiative for funding such wonderful opportunities across the state! We will be putting this money to good use to educate the public and assist our local pollinator species. To learn more information about POPPP and this year’s grant recipients, you can learn more on the Texas Master Naturalist Program website.
