Build Your Knowledge and Skills
Texas Master Naturalists must complete a minimum of eight hours of advanced training (AT) annually to recertify in the Master Naturalist program. Meeting the AT requirement is easy. Many opportunities to gain knowledge are available each year, including presentations and forums, workshops, field trips, webinars, hands-on skill building classes, and community events.
Our Advanced Training Committee approves advanced training opportunities and notifies members by email. Details are also posted on our chapter calendar and in the Volunteer Management System (VMS). Check email messages and the calendar often to learn about interesting and informative programs in our service area and beyond.
Anyone may suggest AT events, but the AT Director or Committee must approve events in advance. Travel time does not count toward AT per state rules.
We always seek great AT opportunities. Know of a possible AT event? Review the Advanced Training policies and submit the event online for approval.
