Like the “Christmas” Bird Count it doesn’t have to be performed exactly on the Fourth of July.
We will be meeting at 9:00 at the Equestrian parking lot at Lick Creek Park to start the count. All levels of butterfly expertise (or non-expertise) are welcome.Saturday is going to be hot and muggy, so come prepared with hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water! Binoculars, particularly close-focusing ones, will be useful.
We should finish Lick Creek Park by lunch time, but we need 6 party-hours to validate the count, so we will need to do more butterflying in the afternoon, for those who wish to continue.
This is an approved volunteer activity for Master Naturalists.
