Presentation Abstract
The Brazos Valley has more native tree species than most people realize. Many are native to the area while others have been brought in from other parts of Texas or the world and have become naturalized. Several local parks have trails where large numbers of woody species can be observed. Some species can be found in most locations while others are common in some parks but absent in others. I will show maps of Castle Rock Park, Central Park, John Crompton Park and the dog park off Autumn Circle and discuss species that can be found there and other parts of the Brazos Valley.
