Botany Archaeology, Bat Facts, and a Toast to Cardinals: Discover the Latest in August Tidings

August 9, 2024 by Nancy Dunnahoe

In the August issue of Tidings, GLC President Sheri Wilcox reflects on her property’s historic use in Washington County and the journey of land stewardship. You can join Sheri and chapter member Frank Michel on a nature walk as they guide visitors through the plant archaeology and history of San Felipe de Austin Historic Site on the last Sunday of each month at 2 p.m.

The summer edition of GLC’s newsletter also features helpful tips for recording your hours in VMS, AT in August, observations from Indian Creek Nature Area in Burton and the Piney Creek community in Bellville, a toast to the Northern Cardinal, facts about bats and experiencing the Bracken Bat Cave/Preserve in San Antonio, goat “lawnmowers” for vegetation management, and more.
