TMN-GLC Celebrates Class of 2025 Graduates at May Chapter Meeting

Congratulations to the TMN-GLC Class of 2025!

On May 17, 2025, the Gideon Lincecum Chapter welcomed our newest Texas Master Naturalists at the May Chapter Meeting at the Winedale Historical Complex in Round Top.

The 2025 TMN graduates are as pictured: Jennifer Ruess, Steve Ruess, Kathleen Graham, Kathy Lewman, Tabatha Carey, Jessie Rincon-Paz, Diana Sellers, Louis Sellers, Cheryl Noland, Jacquie Pritchard, John Pritchard, Krystyna Westfield, Sam Walton, Katie Tagliavia, and Linda Placke (not pictured).

TMN-GLC trainees began class on January 11, 2025, and completed 40+ hours dedicated to class work and field trips to earn the designation of Texas Master Naturalist.

The following Certified Texas Master Naturalists received Recertifications and roadrunner pins for 2025: Wanda Anglin, Chuck Babb, Tim Brooking, Maria Dahlberg, Nancy Dunnahoe, Tayvis Dunnahoe, Jaci Elliott, Ken English, Bill Fisher, Trey Granger, Jim Kelley, Cindy McMorran, Chris Morrison, Betsy Palkowsky, Jeff Post, Swee Leng Rapatz, Cindy Rodibaugh, Dottie Schoeneberg, Sheril Smith, and Barry Zeluff.

The following milestone achievements also were given to chapter members who’ve dedicated significant hours to the TMN program:

250 Hours All-Time (Bronze Dragonfly Pin): Patti Brown, Lori Hessel, and Jim Kelley

500 Hours All-Time (Pewter Dragonfly Pin): Chuck Babb and Frank Michel

1,000 Hours All-Time (Gold Dragonfly Pin): Charlene Koehler

Additionally, the May Chapter Meeting included an Advanced Training (AT) educational program focusing on carbon sequestration, with presentations covering: 

1. Prairie Restoration and the Soil Organic Carbon Metric by Evelyn Merz, Program Director, University of Houston Coastal Center

2. Soil Carbon Measurement and Monitoring as a Tool of Restoration Progress by Jacob Wheat, Restoration Ecologist, Resource Environmental Solutions (RES)

3. Soil Carbon Credits: Pathways to Profit from Sustainable Management by Sarah Swackhamer, Director of Programs, BCarbon
