VMS opportunity: AT: NGO Workshops and Programs on Wildlife Conservation and Land Stewardship
The seminar will be held March 29, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Brazos Bend State Park. The park entrance fee is waived for program participants. Meet at the Brazos Bend State Park dining hall.

9:30 – noon Workshop
Native plant propagation workshop – Join Mark Morgenstern, proprietor of Morning Star Prairie Plants, Plant Grower Chair for HNPAT, and TMN, for a lesson on seed collecting, germination and propagation techniques including spring sprigging, bumping up, and the dig and divide. Prairie plants provide the most natural habitat for Monarch butterflies!
How to Grow Milkweed – In addition to the native prairie nectar plants, the monarch caterpillars need milkweed as their host plant. Barbara Keller-Willy, Director of Monarch Gateway, a 501(c)(3) organization, will teach how to propagate milkweed to help the monarch butterfly.
