Native Prairie Restoration Field Visit

Advanced Training Opportunity: VMS category: NGO Workshops and Programs on Wildlife Conservation and Land Stewardship

View a land restoration project in process. Meet at 9 a.m. at 12421 Coyote Run Lane in Burton. The program will include a field visit and an educational presentation covering: 

  1. Invasive, introduced species to get rid of, and how
  2. clearing 
  3. herbiciding
  4. soil amending – Organic matter
  5. cover crops
  6. planting – seed or live plants / transplanting etc 
  7. prescribed burns
  8. prescribed grazing 
  9. which company you ordered from, or where you collected seed from 
  10. rolling out native bales – with ripe seed
