Prescribed Fire Workshop: Benefits and Application

VMS opportunity: AT: TPWD Wildlife & Land Management Workshops & Programs

This workshop, sponsored by TPWD and the LCRA, is designed to give landowners and managers a basic understanding of the use and application of prescribed burning to manage for quail, white-tailed deer, other wildlife species and livestock management.

Presentations topics will include:

• Historical perspectives on fire
• The role of fire in vegetation management
• Fire weather and safety
• Fire line preparation
• Suppression equipment
• Smoke management
• Planning the burn
