Thirty-three members of TMN GLC were in attendance at the 20th Anniversary TMN Annual Meeting. Hats off to the crew who manned the general store! More than $14,000 in merchandise was sold during the three-day event. Many of us came home with some new TMN gear, including the 20th anniversary T-shirt.
More congratulations to our TMN members who were recognized for reaching volunteer milestones from 250 to 1,000 volunteer hours. TMN volunteers from all chapters were recognized for their outstanding service. For the first time ever, TMN recognized two volunteers for 20,000 hours of service, the equivalent of working ten years at a full-time job. Dedication like that is inspiring.
Last, but not least, were the classes. There were opportunities for everyone to learn more about a favorite topic or explore something entirely new. With over 150 sessions, members chose from specialty sessions like Texas Waters and prescribed burning to learning new ways to record their experiences through photography and iNaturalist to building their knowledge of birds and reptiles and grasses. Our own Lori Buffum presented a session on how to engage groups indoors through variations on her popular TMN bingo.
If you were not able to attend this year’s meeting, the 21st annual meeting will be held October 18-20, 2019 in Rockwall, Texas.
