Save Our Springs Alliance Eco-Tours

September 4, 2019 by kateknight

Our bodies are mostly made up of water. We can do without food awhile but, water is crucial for our survival. Much of what we drink is supplied from aquifers here in Texas.

Are you curious about aquifers and how they supply our water? Would you also like to learn more about the endemic species that live in them?

Contact Save Our Springs Alliance

The Edwards Aquifer Ecosystem cannot speak for itself. Only citizens who take the time to learn the ways of the land, water, wildlife, and people can speak in favor of policies that will protect and sustain the Aquifer and its contributing watersheds.

We strive to educate Central Texans of the natural and cultural value of the Edwards Aquifer and its Great Springs. We offer a multimedia presentation that covers all the basic information that people need to know to become engaged and active citizens. The presentation lasts about twenty minutes, but can be tailored to specific audiences. If you would like to schedule a presentation, contact us at sosinfo@sosalliance.org.

Eco-Tours

We also like to engage in outdoors, hands-on education, particularly snorkeling and walking tours of Barton Springs and Barton Creek. If you would like to have the SOS Alliance give a tour to a group of friends or families, contact us

My hubbie Mark and I had a lot of fun while learning about the ecosystem around Barton Creek.

You need to be able to swim in deep water for the snorkel tours. They also offer educational hikes.
