The Odonata Research Project is documenting dragonflies and damselflies in Williamson County. Volunteers are needed and you can learn as you participate in the survey. TMN Volunteer Hours will be earned by participation. The immediate goals are be to add additional species, and to continue acquiring digital photographs of any odonates encountered. Survey will entail a group or groups, depending on number of participants, walking around the parks to locate, photograph, and identify odonates. A record of observations will be maintained. Volunteers should bring a camera and close focusing binoculars if they have them. Wear clothes appropriate for walking in wet areas, wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle. Also take precautions against chiggers. Identification tips will be available after the surveys for those who want to stay and learn.
