We are the Lindheimer Chapter, located in Comal County in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We have crystal clear spring waters and rivers, rolling hills and intriguing canyons, majestic oaks and towering cypress, bright wildflowers, abundant and diverse wildlife – birds, butterflies, bees, fish, insects, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. Comal County, where our Master Naturalists volunteer and serve, is home to Canyon Lake, Guadalupe River, Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area, and the Canyon Lake Gorge – a geological wonder created in just days by a powerful flood which uncovered amazing geological features and 100 million years old dinosaur tracks. Another wonder is the Bracken Bat Cave Preserve, home and nursery to the largest colony of freetail bats in the world with 20 million!
