The Texas Waters Specialist Curriculum Class has been postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.
However, there is a path to obtaining your certification as a Texas Waters Specialist during COVID:
During times of COVID-19, modifications to obtaining TWS certification AT hours(not a requirement but options for AT as social distancing continues): previously recorded webinars can be viewed independently. (TMN: Group discussion still required) (Lindheimer Chapter doesn’t offer this yet)
Texas Waters curriculum chapter quizzes. To receive credit, a score of 100% is required; the quizzes can be taken more than once. Results are saved, therefore, no need to send an email to Melissa Felty (Alderson) of completion. For credit, remember to properly log your AT hours (up to 1 hour of TWS AT eligible per book chapter). (TMN: per TMN policy-quizzes are not approved for your Chapter AT but will count toward TWS certification) So, for each chapter a member reads, they can earn 1 hour AT. There are 9 chapters, so a total of 9 AT hours can be awarded to a member. During COVID, that is my recommendation to give the 9 hours of AT. No AT is given for taking the quizzes.
The Texas Waters Specialist category needs to be added to your VMS profile. Please let Membership know you are pursuing the certification at TexasTrock@gmail.com.
Texas Waters Webinars: These are live webinars held monthly by the Texas Waters program, but are open for anyone who wants to earn AT hours. They are not limited to Texas Waters Specialists.
