Aquatic Habitat Management on Private Land

This webinar will give an overview of considerations for managing privately owned aquatic habitats (e.g. ponds). We will begin briefly discussing differences in lotic and lentic aquatic systems and the importance of maintenance focusing on lentic systems. Water quality cannot be visually observed, so key water chemistry parameters, their importance, target optimal ranges, and proposed amendments will be addressed. Regardless of primary uses or goals, aquatic vegetation needs to be balanced properly which will require management. We will end the program with reasons for aquatic vegetation management (control/restoration) along with options and resources for managing aquatic habitat on private land.
