Gardening for Resilience
Houston Botanic Gardens, $45.00
In Houston Botanic Garden’s first five years, we’ve seen it all, from historic winter freeze Uri to the surprise Derecho windstorm in May 2024.
This year, the Garden’s annual horticultural seminar will focus on building greenspaces that are Texas Tough – capable of outlasting the unpredictability of tomorrow. Topics, presented by the Garden’s very own Horticulture staff, will focus on common problems encountered in every Houston garden: freezes, flooding, heat/drought, and hurricane-force winds.
The program on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. will include classroom-style lectures, as well as open discussions that will take participants out into the Garden to tie the learning with visual, real-world examples. Coffee and a catered lunch are included with every $45 ticket.
