The Extraordinary Caterpillar
Community Leader Ticket $5
We are partnering with Merit Motion Pictures and The Caterpillar Lab to bring you this limited on-demand release of The Extraordinary Caterpillar—a powerful 60-minute documentary that reveals the essential (and often overlooked) role caterpillars play in sustaining life on Earth.
Wild, dazzling landscapes exist right outside our doors, where tiny superheroes (caterpillars!) power biodiversity in the most surprising places. This film follows experts and enthusiasts, including our own Doug Tallamy and Sam Jaffe, to explore the unseen stories unfolding in our everyday surroundings, as these incredible animals support the food web and sustain the diverse, thriving ecosystems we all rely on.
All ticket types include full access to the movie for an individual, including our Open Door Ticket, part of our effort to make our programs available to all. Choosing the Supporter or General Admission Ticket helps support the missions of Homegrown National Park and The Caterpillar Lab.
The video will be available to watch until March 24, 2026.
At the end of the limited release, you’ll receive seasonal actions to discover and support your local caterpillars. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a license to host a community screening for your neighborhood, workplace, or local group. Locally hosted screenings help amplify this message and invite more people into the work of protecting these tiny heroes.
All proceeds benefit The Caterpillar Lab and Homegrown National Park

This does NOT count as AT, since it is recorded! It is highly informative about caterpillars.
