Trinity River Christmas Bird Count

December 23

Join Stuart Marcus and others for the 29th Annual Trinity River Christmas Bird Count. Areas to be counted include the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge, Tarkington Prairie, and Gaylor Lake.

People of all skill levels are welcome. People are needed to drive. People are needed to keep count on paper and to spot birds. Others are needed to identify the birds. The important thing is we need people!

This is an all day excursion. Meet at the Shell Fuel Stop at the intersection of Hwy 105 and FM 2518 at 7:00 AM and plan to go all day. Some people will bird the “bottoms” so they need to be sure to bring a sack lunch, rubber knee boots, and other appropriate outdoor clothing.

Be sure to bring a lunch and, after the count, we will eat around 5:00 at The Ranch Hand for dinner and discuss our findings.
