John Herron
John Herron is retired wildlife ecologist with over 40 years of conservation experience and one of the founders of the Texas Master Naturalist program. John worked for The Nature Conservancy for 13 years as the Texas Conservation Director and worked 12 years for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. as Director of the Wildlife Diversity Program. He’s also worked in Wisconsin as a deer biologist and in Kansas as a state wildlife and parks director. John holds a Masters degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University. He lives in Austin, TX.
