Native Plant Society of Texas – San Antonio Chapter

NPSOT- SA promoting conservation , research and utilization of native plants habitats of Texas through education, outreach and example.

Our Approved AAMN Programs:

Our Monthly meeting with guest speaker:
Held on the 4th Tuesday of every month except August, November and December. Currently held via Zoom and posted on NPSOT-SA YouTube channel. In person meeting site at Lions Field Adult and Senior Center 2809 Broadway tentative target to resume Jan-2022. (Approved AT Hours)

Native Landscape Certification Program (NLCP) :
A four-level certification program that teaches sustainable landscape design using native plants. The program introduces over 160 native plants as well as non-native plants to avoid in our region. Plus Native Landscape For Birds: Companion Class for NLCP. Fall Schedule: https://npsot.org/wp/nlcp/ (Approved AT Hours plus surrounding chapters training. )

Outings:
Explore and learn at local parks and ranches on plant and grass walks led by chapter members to Native Plant bioblitz. Check out NPSOT-SA Calendar or our NSPOT Meetup event details/signup . (Approved AT and TR hours if presenting)

Events and Projects:
Providing support, information and instruction at local environmental events; presentations on native plants at local organizations and schools; participation at events such as Siclovia, Viva Botanica, SAWS Spring Bloom, and more. If you are interested in helping please email us at npsotsavolunteers@gmail.com if you want to be added to our standing volunteer list. NPSOT-SA will let you know when opportunities become available. (Approved PO hours)

NPSOT Member programs:

Bexar Roots Native Plant Sale: Spring and Fall plant sales designed to expand the selection of native plants available to the public and discounted to members. Members support a public online native plant exchange.

Member Grant Program:
Our native plant sale funds community oriented native plant projects which are awarded to chapter members. Implementation of grant projects are also AAMN approved as NPA hours.
