From February 22nd Until May 3rd

Become a member of the Coastal Prairie Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist™ program! We are looking for people who are interested in making a contribution to the beneficial management of Texas natural resources by being actively involved in our chapter as a volunteer.

The Spring 2025 training course begins with an in-person meeting on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025. Classes are all held Tuesday mornings (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and Saturday mornings either in person or remotely (Zoom). The program lasts 11 weeks with 14 sessions, finishing May 3rd, 2025.

There is a limit of 24 registrants – training classes fill up fast, so register and pay as soon as you can.

Once initial training is completed, the candidate must provide at least 40 hours of volunteer service in Texas with at least 20 of those hours completed with our service area: Fort Bend, Waller or Wharton Counties. Candidates must also obtain 8 additional hours of advanced training, though these hours are conveniently built into the training class schedule. Each candidate has a full calendar year (365 days) to report all hours and become a Certified Texas Master Naturalist™. There’s no need to wait! All hours reporting can begin Day 1.

The course fee of $135 for individuals (or $235 for couples willing to share a textbook) will be due at the time of application approval. Each student receive the curriculum textbook Texas Master Naturalist. Upon certification, each active member also receives a green polo with logo and a magnetic name badge to be worn at outreach events or other meetings.

Online Registration: The Spring 2025 training course registration form is accessible by clicking the below link, starting from January 7th. Once submitted, you will be contacted by Training Class Director, Lisa Sanders; be sure to include a phone number and time of day for best contact. Following the interview, an invoice will be emailed from the Treasurer with a deadline to complete payment; credit card, debit card, cash, check, or money order are all acceptable forms of payment. Once payment is confirmed, your spot in class is guaranteed.
