AT: Arboretum At Night ~ Bats

August 3, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$30 – $45

Do you like cucumbers, guava, and tequila? Then you love bats! Join Dr. Cullen Geiselman for a fun and relaxed talk about these wonderful but misunderstood creatures. In particular, you’ll learn why bats are crucial for pest control, seed dispersal, and pollination. While you learn, enjoy a selection of beers from Saint Arnold Brewing Company, light snacks, and Katz Coffee. Weather permitting, we’ll go on a night hike to look for bats.

Wear walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Instructor bio: Dr. Cullen Geiselman holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University and an MA and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Columbia University. Her research focuses on seed dispersal and pollination by bats.
