AT: Biomimicry – Houston Arboretum

September 10, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$45

Learn how Biomimicry can translate natural models into innovative solutions. Biomimicry is a new discipline – it is the process of learning from nature to create more sustainable solutions to the challenges we face.  In this interactive workshop, we’ll discuss examples of human design inspired by nature, from physical objects (self-cleaning surfaces inspired by lotus leaves) to processes (managing the traffic of self-driving cars based on schooling fish).  We’ll work through strategies to hone our deep observation skills, and practice those skills by looking at flora and fauna from the Arboretum to discover their solutions to complex design problems.

AT- 2 hours to AT: Houston Arboretum
