Gary Clark’s “Connecting People with Nature” program will explore how birds can reconnect people to the beauty and wonder of nature. Professor Clark says, “Birds have always inspired people and made them aware of something bigger than themselves. People have become remote from nature but we find how necessary it is for their mental and physical well-being to re-connect.”
Gary has been writing the weekly nature column for the Houston Chronicle since 1999. He has written 10 books including the recent Book of Texas Birds.
Gary leads birding and photography tours throughout the world with his wife Kathy. He founded the Texas Rare Bird Alert, advises the Houston Audubon Society, the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory and the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge.
Gary Clark is an honored professor and past Dean at Lone Star College.
